Cookies and Local Storage

Browser storage supports sign-in, preferences, product analytics and advertising measurement, with separate choices.

Advertising measurement

Google Ads measures permitted public visits and beta form confirmations. Cookie settings changes your choice without clearing sign-in or encryption storage. EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada and unknown locations require acceptance; other regions permit measurement unless refused. DNT/GPC keeps it off. Google may store advertising cookies (_gcl_*). Local storage tw:ads_consent holds your choice, time, region and notice; session storage tw:ads_last_conversion_permission holds the last event’s permission reference. No names, emails, answers or private case content are sent. See the privacy policy.

What we store in your browser

Sign-in session
Local storage · Strictly necessary
Keeps you signed in between visits and lets the app talk to the backend as you. Removed when you sign out.
Encryption key material
Local storage · Strictly necessary
Holds your wrapped encryption key on this device so protected case content can be decrypted locally. It never leaves the browser.
tw_analytics_consent / tw:analytics_consent
Cookie and local storage · Preference
Records whether you allowed product analytics, so we do not ask again on every visit. Mirrored across stores only so the banner cannot reappear after you answer.
tw.changelog.lastSeen
Local storage · Preference
Remembers the newest release you have already read, so 'What's new' is accurate.
Onboarding and interaction markers
Local storage · Preference
Device-local hints such as which setup screen you were last on, or a dismissed prompt. They never contain case content and are cleared when the flow completes.
Product analytics events
Local storage · Analytics (opt-in)
Coarse, anonymous counters used to understand which pages help. Written only after you opt in, never containing names, case content, or free text.

Analytics consent

Product analytics are off until you turn them on. We ask once, store your answer, and honour it. You can change your mind at any time from the consent control in the site footer, and declining changes nothing about how the product works.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stay off regardless of any stored choice, and we do not ask.

Clearing this data

Clearing site data for togetherward.app in your browser removes everything listed above. Doing so signs you out and removes the locally held encryption key material from this device, so make sure you can sign in and unlock your case again before you clear it.
